"Don't be afraid. Be focused.
Be determined. Be hopeful.
Be empowered"
- Michelle Obama
As sisters, we spend lots of time together! It's important to take a break from studying and working to have a little fun and bond with each other. We also host socials with other organizations or with sisters from other chapters, such as our 2019 Sistersgiving with Zeta Chapter from Fresno State.
Our sisters strive toward academic excellence. We study together and track our progress individually and collectively. We do all we can to provide resources, set study hours, and support each other in pursuit of our sisters' goals.
The UC Davis Alphas work with the American Heart Association each year to promote heart disease prevention and educate the community. We hold events and fundraisers for the association in the winter. Come back to see what virtual opportunities we have in January and February!
An important part of being an Alpha is serving the community in multiple ways each quarter. Our sisters have volunteered in community gardens in Davis, campus tours, mentoring high school students, helping at student-run clinics, and more!
The Alphas are on their way to different careers, so we promote professionalism in multiple ways. Our Advisor, Aury Guttierrez, our Alumni Advisor, Melissa Oros, and alumni serve as a resource to our undergraduate sisters. Together, we prepare for our professional work lives ahead!
Our organization was founded to support and unite Latinas through and beyond their college careers. Though we try to help the Latinx community as much as possible, our chapter welcomes people from all backgrounds and identities!
Our monthly newsletter returns March 2021. Subscribe to receive it in your inbox every month!
